A Day Out on the Buses

On Sunday 20th September, heritage buses will be operating a free service between Bolton, Atherton & Leigh along the 582 route to commemorate 120 years of Lancashire United Transport, its transition to Greater Manchester Transport 50 years ago, now #beenetwork.

Buses will operate every 20 minutes between 11:00 and 16:00 with stops along the way. 

Lancashire United (LUT) was once the largest independent bus operator in the UK with an operating area bounded Manchester, Bolton, Wigan, St.Helens and Warrington and regular express services to Blackpool. Now just a memory, this event will give you the chance to ride on heritage buses along what is now the 582 route between Bolton and Leigh.
